Hypnagogia: A Journey into Nightly Hallucinations

Exploring the Enigmatic Realm of Dreams and Delusions in a Solo Cinematic Adventure

Embarking on a Cinematic Odyssey

"Hypnagogia" is a journey into the enigmatic realm of nightly hallucinations. In this mini short film, I ventured into uncharted creative territory, taking on every role from writer and director to cinematographer and actor.

Playing Two Roles in One Scene

One of the standout moments in "Hypnagogia" was the eerie encounter with a nightmarish entity. In a chilling scene, I portrayed both characters, delving into the complexities of this condition. The challenge lay in creating the illusion of two individuals sharing the same screen, a feat achieved through careful acting and post-production.

From Chills to Cheer: A Twist in the Tale

As the story unfolded, the film transitioned from spine-tingling chills to a heartwarming twist that left the audience with smiles rather than shivers. In a strategic move, I aimed to uplift and entertain, adding a touch of cheer to the narrative. Adapting to the social media landscape, I ensured that the film's conclusion resonated with a sense of joy and delight.

Wearing Multiple Hats: A One-Woman Show

"Hypnagogia" was an endeavour where I wore multiple hats. I crafted the script, shaped the creative direction, planned the lighting, and took on the role of the cameraman. As a solo creator, I took on the challenge of not only acting but also handling all aspects of post-production, including editing.

The Red Mood and Mysterious Atmosphere

To capture the essence of hypnagogic hallucinations, I chose a distinct visual style. "Hypnagogia" embraced a vibrant red palette, immersing viewers in a hauntingly mysterious atmosphere. The middle of the night became the backdrop for a terrifying and immersive experience.

Beyond the Competition: A Resounding Reception

While the film didn't win the competition, it certainly struck a chord with viewers. Gathering over 19,000 views, 380 likes, 90 saves, and 30 shares, the short film made its presence felt online. These numbers show that it resonated with the audience and demonstrated the power of storytelling on social media.
